Every Day Make Up

It’s the season of pasty, dry skin, horrid dark bags under your eyes and an overall tired look. The harsh Winter breeze almost knocks you over – let alone damages your skin! And as a result I find myself applying make up more regularly in order to resemble a human. I am keen on skin care so only pick the gentlest and kindest products for my skin. So, as to share the love with my lovely visitors to my little blog I am sharing with you my every day make up and tips for every day application!

As some of you may know I’m a bit of a Simple Susan! And for me, having fifteen extra minutes in bed is often more important than looking my best at work. I hope I am not the only one – especially because I have the least glamorous job in the world and come home filthy most days! This is reflected in my every day make up routine. I am a minimal effort, maximum effect sort of girl – so if you’re anything like me, this post will be right up your alley!

Welcome to my world of messy buns, high pony tails and throw on whatever you can find. Until the weekend, of course, when I adorn my Blogging Fabulous look!

So, to achieve my every day make up look and to not kill my skin from over use of products I stick with brands I know I can trust. I have got very sensitive skin so know when I need to have a make up free day – thankfully, with these amazing products that is very rare!

So, first thing’s first. As lazy as I am and as much as I LOVE extra time in bed, no make up ritual is suitable without a big blob of moisturizer lathered all over your face! If you know me, you’ll know I am a moisturizer addict so I have them all! On the daily morning routine I use Soap and Glory’s Righteous Butter – this bad boy will take the scaliest of skin to smooth levels of heaven! You can buy it here. Please do. Then come back to me and tell me how amazing it is. Go on!

So, once that has settled into my tired skin I wait for it to set then put on the best primer in the world. Recently, I received an amazing goodie bag from the lovely people over at Rimmel and Beauty at Tesco – I even did a blog post about it! Inside this amazing goodie bag was the best primer I’ve ever had the pleasure to use! It is so soft and not greasy at all and I apply it every day to help my everyday make up stay in place! It’s definitely a must have for my every day routine! Without which, my little make up may slide off from sweat of trying to be an adult for eight hours a day!

Next up, I HAVE to apply generous amounts of Maybelline’s Cover Stick to help cover up my eye bags! It’s so inexpensive and light! One of my favourite buys and one of my constantly empties! It is non-greasy and goes on so well after my primer has set. I do wear this product every day and it is must have for anyone with dark eye bags like myself!

Usually to give my fave a little colour I use Rimmel Lasting Finish Blusher as I usually look really pale and washed out. I use minimal and it really does go a long way. It was in my empties pile so didn’t get a chance to take a picture of it.

I have to apply mascara to help open up my stubborn eyes and I ADORE Soap and Glory’s Thick and Fast mascara! It’s a thing of dreams!

One special side note is that at the moment on a daily basis I am applying fLash Eye Lash Serum to my eye lids to help my eye lashes grow – don’t panic there WILL BE  huge blog post coming on that with my before and afters etc. You’ll love it!

That’s pretty much all I can muster of a cold Winter morning to turn me from pale ghoul girl into half presentable adult! I swear by Nivea for their lip balms and always have lots of these on me constantly to help my lips feel soft!

So, that’s how I achieve my everyday make up look!

  3. That’s amazing that you go so simple, some days I definitely feel like I could be a little bit more sparing on the makeup instead of drenching myself in it! I need to get on the Soap and Glory bandwagon some more, I have such dry skin and only hear good things! xx

It’s because I’m lazy haha!! I always say less is more – that might be because I can’t do intricate eye make up tho!
