Social media! It’s everywhere, we all use it and we all live off of it. As a blogger, it’s my bread and butter! I am constantly updating my Twitter status, I upload onto Instagram at least twice a day. I schedule my tweets in whole months stints to on a daily basis. We feel the need to tell everyone what we’re up to all the time. Today it is Valentine’s Day, yes I’m planning slightly ahead and realise this post is coming out a lot later than Valentine’s Day; anyway, I have stayed away from social media today as it’s been an explosion of bragging, loving and photos that make you want to be sick in your mouth! So here I’m sharing with you the pros and cons of Social Media and some little bits that’ll make you smile!
Pro
I am addicted to twitter! It’s amazing for finding blog friends and it’s the best way to grow your blog
Con
I spend far too much time on there and not in the real world sometimes
Pro
Instagram is just so so pretty and a beautiful medium for expressing yourself and your blog!
Con
It isn’t real! I cannot stress this enough! Social media is a show reel. Even those gorgeous photos of coffee dates and amazing blog shots are all orchestrated and fake for the sake of the photo!
Pro
Being active on social media can get you things quicker – whether it’s a complaint about a service or its a kudos to an amazing brand – you’ll be seen in no time at all!
Con
Being so far removed from the real world (if your head is always on social media) can make it really hard to empathise and sympathise with those around you – as someone who is always on their phone for business reasons, I can’t tell you how important it is to switch off!
Pro
Twitter is literally my best friend. Whenever I’m sad or lonely or bored I stroll on over to Tiwtter to see my buds!
Con
It is a fact that Social Media is addictive! If you’re not careful you’ll have sat down with a cuppa for a quick glance at the world trough your phone and all of a sudden it’s lunch time and you’ve not looked up for hours!
There’s so much more to life, even as a blogger, when you look up from your phone and see the real world!

It’s all so true, I think social media is The way forward but it can get daunting. All these changes with Instagram and YouTube are annoying but I guess a pro to that is people are gravitating back to Twitter. I need to start scheduling some posts too, I think it will help me manage myvtime better. Great read xfjx

Interesting points! Social media does develop so quickly, I do sometimes forget that people’s lives are not as they make out online. Sometimes I feel so inadequate but I have been trying more and more to constantly remind myself, social media is the highlights of a person’s life, we don’t know what happens behind closed doors.
