As a beauty blogger, I am inundated with make up posts. I am make up addict and I am constantly trying new make up trends. I follow lots of make up bloggers and can spend hours in beauty stores staring at products. Many of my blog friends are the same. We have draws, cupboards and make up bags full of make up and we LOVE IT! Here, I am going to share with you a couple of my very simple beauty hacks!
- Use your concealer underneath your foundation to banish the blemishes – then use it on top of your foundation to highlight! My favourite is the Maybelline Cover Stick!
- ALWAYS use a primer to help your make up stay in place and not dry your skin out! My favourite is Rimmel’s Primer.
- Use a fat brush for best blush/bronzer coverage
- Use a thinner brush (using the thinner edges) to apply the under cheek contouring – it gives a better shadow effect.
- Heat up your eye lash curlers with the hairdryer before you use them. WARNING do not heat them so they are scolding and text them on your wrist to see if they are too hot – do not damage your eyes by being careless. This will make your lashes stay perfectly curled!
- Similarly, to make your mascara go a little bit further, warm it up before you apply it. I put mine either under my arm pit or in my bra’s cleavage. The difference is incredible! Not more gloopy messes!
- If you accidentally nudge yourself and get mascara on your nose or anywhere on your face, wait for it to dry before you wipe it off. It is much easier to remove once it’s dried and in one spot. I always use a damp cotton bud – this means no black smears!
- When applying concealer (before and after foundation) apply it in large triangles under your eyes rather than ovals – more coverage means a better look!
- Use blending sponges for the best coverage. I dampen mine first so that they don’t suck up all of my expensive make up! I use different shaped ones for different jobs! I buy mine from Born Pretty.
- In store, check your foundation colour on your inner neck rather than your hand! Trust me!
- To create the best strobing/highlighting look buy a highlighter! I use Rimmel Good To Glow.
- Create beach waves with your straighteners – gather large chunks of hair, hold the top of it (near ish to your scalp), flip it over the other side and slide it down = so easy!
- Always use heat defense if you are using any heat products on your hair – that includes hair/blow drying!
- Condition your hair as much as possible! I use Aussie Miracle Cure and the difference is insane!
- Exfoliate as much as possible – especially if you are wanting to keep that tan (hurry up Summer). I use Soap and Glory’s Sugar Crush Body Scrub! It’s amazing!
- Use conditioner in place of shaving foam to shave your legs – you will not believe how smooth your legs will be!
I’m your Venus… - If you’re feeling brave, make a coconut oil hair mask – your hair will thank you! I use Lucy Bee’s coconut oil!
- Spray your hair grips with hair spray before putting them in to keep the style perfect.
- Use dry shampoo as a substitute for hair spray!
- If you have the time, mix some peppermint into your lap balm to encourage those puckers to plump!
