How To Get Into The Christmas Spirit Part 2

We are nearing Christmas. Well, it’s hurtling towards us at the speed of light! With all the Christmas adverts and pressure to buy gifts for everyone and his wife – it’s no surprise some people are finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit! Here’s a little help along the way! If you’ve read part one, you’ll know what to expect (I’m a bit of a Christmas Elf, sorry!). If you haven’t read Part 1, what are you waiting for!? You can find it here!

A great way to get into the Christmas spirit is to some Christmas baking/cooking. I am no Nigella. Don’t get me wrong, I can knock up a good risotto but baking is something I can’t help but get wrong – no matter how hard I try! This, however, does not deter me. Every year I force my boyfriend to bake some ridiculous Christmas recipe, only to not eat it because I don’t actually like many sweet things. Bless him, he has to eat it all to himself! One year we made Peppermint Creams, another we made Christmas cookies and last year I went the whole hog and cooked a Christmas Gammon (pun intended!).

Honestly, as much as I suck at baking I really enjoy it. As much as most of my baking ideas end up ruined and a new form of torture for my lovely man, it is just so much fun! The whole house becomes filled with the smells of Christmas and you do it together – adding to the fun of Christmas!

A really great way to get into the Christmas Spirit is to write a Christmas list for yourself. Remember when you were little, you’d get so excited to write up all your Christmas wants. I used to love circling anything and everything I could in the Argos catalogue! Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you can’t take a little you time to write down what you’d like. And, being a sensible Sally that I am, it’s actually very helpful for your loved ones! So, why not go for it. Get the ipad, light some candles, snuggle up in a blanket and get searching for what you’d like to see under the tree! Treat yourself!

Lastly, and nicely following on from my previous idea, why not go shopping! Yep, I’m encouraging you to go shopping. It’s nearly Christmas, what’s better than getting among the hustle and bustle and going out of your way to get those special people in your life something they’d really love for Christmas! I know it can be a bit of a pain if it is busy on England’s high streets, but everyone is in the same boat. On the run up to Christmas people can be stressed out but a little Christmas cheer and smiles can go a long way!

While you’re there, why not treat yourself to a little something?! It’s Christmas after all!

The final part to getting into the Christmas spirit will follow, if you need it! Happy Christmas spirit-ing guys!
